The position: Software security penetration tester for GE (Stock Quote: GE)

Location: Van Buren Township, Mich.

Job duties: Basically, your job boils down to finding potential weaknesses in software products before the real hackers have a chance to. Will serve as a technical security tester whose goal is to identify software vulnerabilities and then work with development teams to implement solutions. Will use both manual processes and automated tools to try and find potential security vulnerabilities. Job involves ensuring safety technology plans integrate effectively with other aspects of the technical process. Will help develop and communicate software security standards.

Requirements: Must have a bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related field. Requires at least three years of hands-on experience in software security testing and/or information security, plus experience performing penetration tests using both manual and automated tactics. Must be a strong team player. Applicants must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act and will need to undergo a thorough background investigation and drug test. Six Sigma certification is a plus.
