Risks of Changing a Job in this Economy

By : Working World advice.com

do the benefits outweigh the risk?

So… you’re thinking of changing your job. Really, it’s not necessarily a bad idea. Life is about calculating risks and deciding which ones you want to take. You won’t get any where in life without taking risks.

In the past few years you were told to get anywhere you needed to take risks. It was important to take a risk to get ahead. And many people got burned because they took risk after risk. Now, everyone is scared to take any risk just in case they might get burned again.

You shouldn’t be afraid take a risk – but you should carefully weigh your options. Right now, the some of the biggest risks you are taking by changing jobs in this economy are:

* Your new job gets transitioned out after you start.
* Your new company goes under.
* You get a new job in an environment that is worse than what you currently have.

Life is about risks… taking one or not taking one can dramatically change your life. You need to consider what risks you can afford taking and what risks you really can’t. It is a personal decision that no one but you (and your family) can make
