Answering Tough Interview Questions - What Motivates You?

By : Adrian F Alexa

Usually, interviewers are looking for candidates who can make a difference to their company. So if you are not that motivated by your work and if the only thing that helps during the day is the thought that you are going to leave your workplace at the end of the day, it would be better for you to keep that to yourself.

When you go to an interview you should always say that you are highly motivated when you have the chance to use the skills that the interviewer is searching for:

-For example, if the employer wants to hire someone who has customer service skills, then you could say something like: I enjoy a lot spending time with people and dealing with clients and solving their problems or other difficult situations.

-If the employer is asking what other things motivate you, you can always say that you like when your work is

-Being recognised by your clients, by your co-workers or by your boss.

-Interviewers like candidates who enjoy learning and developing their skills: you should always tell your future employer that you want to develop your professional and personal skills in order to be able to do your work properly.

These are just a few suggestions for your answers but you should not memorise them. Try to think about what really motivates you because you will sound more genuine. When you go to an interview you have to think that you need to impress the interviewer but you also need to be sincere when it comes to your skills, your experience or the things that motivate you!
